Donut Cones


Another dessert hybrid that became a trend in 2016 is the donut cone. This awesome alternative to your typical waffle cone is made of cinnamon sugar-covered dough and filled with chocolate and ice cream. This delicious creation originated in Central Europe, where chimney cakes (also known as Trdelník or funnel donuts) are popular.

Donut cones are a modern take on chimney cakes, which are basically dough wrapped around a stick, grilled, and topped with walnuts and sugar. We can thank Good Food Coffee and Bakery, a café in Prague, for beginning this trend which has since spread all over the world.
